What HLA-DR / DQ measures

HLA-DR and DQ typing reports inherited immune-presentation haplotypes. Shoemaker protocols use specific haplotypes as a susceptibility marker, not as a circulating lab value that trends draw to draw.

Why it matters

How clinicians usually read it

It is a one-time venous genetic type, not a Tasso+ chemistry. The report is a haplotype list. The sample number here is only a placeholder count of susceptible haplotypes for the prototype dashboard.

When it reads low

A lower value can mean

A zero here means the sample report did not flag a published multi-susceptible haplotype. It does not mean someone cannot become ill after a large exposure.

When it reads high

A higher value can mean

A value of one or more means the sample report flagged a published susceptible haplotype. That is a risk pattern, not a diagnosis of CIRS.
