What PSA measures
Prostate-specific antigen is a protein made by prostate tissue. Circulating PSA is used as a screening and monitoring signal, not a diagnosis of cancer.

Why it matters
How clinicians usually read it
SiPhox includes PSA on the male Ultimate panel. It can run from an SST immunoassay; age, prostate size, infection, and recent activity all move it.
When it reads low
A lower value can mean
A lower PSA is the usual quiet pattern in younger men and after prostate removal. It does not by itself prove the prostate is healthy.
When it reads high
A higher value can mean
A higher PSA can reflect enlargement, inflammation, recent ejaculation or cycling, or a process that needs clinical follow-up. Trends matter more than one value.
